Vietnam by Bike: Leaving Hanoi, where better than spectacular Ninh Binh and Halong Bay to start this amazing adventure, before heading south to Hue. Pedaling at a steady pace we explore an ever-changing landscape of tranquil highlands, palm fringed beaches and country roads that lead through mango and coconut groves. Stopping at wayside tea stalls, the villagers’ curiosity often translates into invitations to visit their homes. We also savour the bustling, cosmopolitan café culture of Ho Chi Minh City on this unforgettable adventure.

Ho Chi Minh to Angkor Wat: This journey begins in the fast paced Ho Chi Minh City, which we leave behind for the quieter rural roads to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Crossing through to Cambodia we delight in the lush green countryside and rice fields where the locals will amaze us with their warmth and hospitality. We have time to absorb the exquisite palaces, pagodas and French inspired architecture of Phnom Penh, before we cycle around the renowned complex of Angkor.

Luang Prabang to Hanoi:We commence cycling on the banks of the Mekong at Luang Prabang with its exquisite golden temples and waterfalls. Continuing through rolling mountain scenery to Nong Khiew we travel by boat to our home stay in the village of Ban Sopjam followed by the intriguing Vieng Say Caves where the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party lived during the Secret War. Then we enter Vietnam and explore the beautiful Mai Chau Valley and its many ethnic villages before ending in Hanoi.

Along the Mekong River by Bike: The course of the mighty Mekong is a heady blend of ancient cultural landscapes, exotic charms and endless smiles that cannot fail to captivate. Starting in the enchanting Vientiane with its colonial grandeur and beautiful gilded temples, our cycling journey delves deep into isolated countryside areas where you’ll witness up close and personal a way of life that has evolved among the villagers that have lived on or beside the river for centuries.
